Change Internet Explorer Home Page
I have helped probably thousands of end users. When I am working with someone to resolve an interenet explorer issue I almost always am asked, “Can I change my internet explorer home page”. Well the answer is yes and it is simple.
When you open Internet Explorer the first page the you will see if called your Home Page. This is the page that will automatically load when Internet Explorer is launched or when you click the home button. By default Microsoft has it set to msn.com but you can change the home page to what every you want.
First you need to find the page you want to have as you home page. This is done simply by browsing to the page. I personally like Google because they basically are the best as far as what they index. Once you have found the web page you want to set as your home page follow the steps below.
- Click on the Tools menu, then click Internet Options at the bottom
- Click the General tab
- Under Home page , click Use Current (that sets your home page)
- Click Apply
That’s it your done. Now when you launch Internet Explorer or click the home button your browser will load the new page.
Note: You can also change the home page by typing the URL or address of your desired home page in the address field and clicking on the Apply button.
