Change Default Font In MS Word

Microsoft Word is a flexible robust word processing application. You can use Word to create professional letters from templates or from scratch. You can create mail merge documents and much more.

If your work in MS Word requires a font which is different from the default Time New Roman font, there is a simple solution. Just change the default font.  Just follow the steps below.

 

Steps for changing the default font in MS Word 

1. If your document already contains text formatted with the properties you want to use, select that text.

2. On the Format menu, click Font.

3. Select the options you want to apply to the default font. If you selected text in step 1, the properties you want will appear in the dialog box.

4. Click Default. Any new document you open will use the font settings you selected.

The default font applies to new documents based on the active template. Different templates might use different default font settings.
