No exchanges yet with Vzn, I only got it Friday and have been trying to research what's what.

Call me cynical, but every "improvement" or "upgrade" in items like this seem to be another conduit for advertising, surveillance, or control.

Will share any insight I obtain.

Paul, that is a goo questions. I would guess that either Verizon just dropped the ball when it came to packaging your router. It does seem funny though that you received a replacement router without a notice. have you tried contacting Verizon? If so I for one would like to how they resoponded.

What are the differences, besides the style of the case, between the "new" Actiontec MI424WR and the "old" Actiontec MI424WR ?

I just got the new one, unsolicited, and want to know of any known shortcomings if I were to switch it over.

I'm puzzled and a little suspicious because there has been no explanation from Vzn, and the router was poorly packed, rattling around loose in the box with no separators between it, the AC adapter, and the CD/paperwork pile.

Moreover, the antenna was already screwed on, as if this were someone's return.
